John Francis Hunt, 91, died Dec. 24, 2003.
He was born and raised in Snowflake, where he completed high school. John was active with sports in school and for several years after, he especially enjoyed basketball, as well as hunting and fishing. John later shifted his interest to cattle, horses, and ranching. After retirement John and his wife moved to Phoenix for the winter months and made many friends there.
His grandchildren were one of his greatest joys. John and Marguerte were married for 64 years when she passed away. They were married in the Mesa Arizona Temple. John served on the Snowflake School Boards and Irrigation Boards for several years.
He is survived by his five children, Edwin "Ed" L. (Beverly) Hunt of Snowflake, Sonya (William) Cherry of Phoenix, Patricia "Pat" (William) Davis of Phoenix, Deanne (Marion) Hatch of Phoenix, and Dale (Kim) Hunt of California; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Marguerte and a granddaughter Joni Hunt Davis.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 2 at The Snowflake Stake Center The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Internment will be in the R.V. "Mike" Ramsay Memorial Cemetery.
