The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Tuesday, March 9, 2010 Mary Lois Strickland, 81, of Prescott, Ariz., born Feb. 21, 1929, in Frankfurt, Ill., passed away March 6, 2010. A private cremation will be at Bradshaw Crematory in Prescott Valley. Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home assisted the family with final arrangements. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Friday, March 12, 2010 Strickland, Mary 81, of Cave Creek, Arizona passed away on March 6, 2010 in Prescott. Mary and her husband, Gene Strickland, moved to Cave Creek in 1962 with their four children from Peoria, Illinois. Mary was a homemaker and also worked as a bookkeeper plus other duties in the family owned business. She belonged to the Carefree Women's Club serving the club in elected positions over the years and enjoyed Bridge. Mary also enjoyed worldwide travel, swimming, and playing countless games of Pinochle with her husband. Mary was a kind and loving person who was also a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. Her son, Jeff, and her husband, Gene, of 52 years of marriage, preceded Mary in death. Her surviving sisters; Doe and Will Dean, children; Randy, Kim and Denise and grandchildren; Alexas, Shannon and Anna, will miss her greatly. No formal services are planned.
