Batts, Albert A. 87 of Sun City, AZ. Passed away on 3/2/2010 at Boswell Hospital. Al was born 1/28/23 in Carway Arkansas to William & Katherine Batts.
He was in the Navy From 09/1940 to 09/1945 as a Chief Gunner's Mate during WW II. After the war, he married his wife Norma and they lived in Independence Missouri for the next 12 years while Al held many positions at the Sears store in Kansas City, including working for Allstate Insurance. In 1957, Al and his wife and their two children moved to Minnesota where he continued his insurance career until 1964. From 1964 until his death, he lived in Arizona, worked in the Real Estate industry going from commercial to residential sales first as a sales representative and later as a Broker, and owned Al Batts Realty in Sun City for many years.
Mr. Batts was also a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Freemason for 50 years and was involved many Shriners activities. He loved the outdoors and over the years, he and his long time companion Alberta have gone on many extended vacations in Al's different motor homes that increased in size as the length of their trips also increased.
Al was preceded in death by both parents, two sisters, his wife Norma and his son Jeff A. Batts and is survived by his daughter Nancy Ledbetter, his grandson Jeff D. Batts and his companion, Alberta Beatty along with many other extended family members and long time friends.
Albert A. Batts was a kind, giving, funny, loving, patriotic man who will be greatly missed every day by all who knew and loved him. A Memorial Service will be held at the American Legion Post 62, 9847 W. Desert Cove Avenue Peoria, Arizona 85345, Wednesday March 10, 2010, 10:30AM- 11:30 AM.
