HANSEN, Orson Jens Peter

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 01/13/2004 Orson Jens Peter Hansen, 96, died Jan. 6, 2004 in Show Low. He was born in Show Low July 17, 1907, and lived in Show Low all of his early life. Orson married Myra Wakefield of Taylor Dec. 19, 1934 in the Mesa Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They lived in Show Low where he was a cowboy and a rancher. In 1960, they moved to Hay Hollow out of Snowflake where he also ranched, later moving into Snowflake in 1994. Orson was an all around cowboy and loved his horses and livestock. He loved his family and always enjoyed it whenever the family would get together for an outing or reunion. Orson loved and appreciated all of his friends. Orson is survived by his wife, Myra Hansen; one son, Orson LeRoy "Sonny" Penrod of Show Low; one grandson, Scott Wayne (Kristen) Miesel of Gilbert; two great-grandchildren, Justin Timothy, and Valarie Lin Miesel of Gilbert; and one sister, Anna Gardner of Mesa. Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 9 at the Pioneer Park Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Snowflake. Internment will be in the Reed Hatch Memorial Cemetery in Taylor. Owens Mortuary of Snowflake handled the arrangements.
