Myrtle E. "Myrt" Anderson, a resident of Phoenix since 1946, passed away December 13, 2002 at the age of 86.
Myrt was born to Edwin and Clara Knutson on a farm in Valders, Wisconsin (as were her 3 sisters and 1 brother) on September 26, 1916.
She attended Manitowoc High School. In 1939, she worked as a secretary in the Manitowoc Shipyards. At that time she met Harold Anderson and in the winter of 1942 he proposed and then were married on March 27, 1943.
Shortly after they were married, Harold received orders to serve in World War II in the Aleutian Islands. In 1946, after the war, they settled in Phoenix where Myrt worked for 20 years at the Tempe branch of the Arizona Bank. Myrt was very active with both the Good Shepherd and King Of Glory Lutheran Churches and was an avid golfer. She loved to bake and her grandchildren will not only greatly miss her unconditional love but will also miss her wonderful cakes and cookies. Myrt will always be remembered as a loving wife and devoted mother and grandmother.
Her children are Sheryl Dickey, married to Donald and their children are Kristin, Lauren and Audra. Daughter, Jane Remaley, married to David
and their children are Seth and Charlie. And son - Robert Anderson, married to Regina and their child is Summer.
Visitation Dec. 19, 2002 at Tempe Mortuary, 405 E. Southern Ave., Tempe. Funeral services Dec. 20. 2002 at King of Glory Lutheran church, 2085 E. Southern Ave. in Tempe, Arizona.
