SLABY, Stan


Stan Slaby, 86, of Scottsdale, AZ passed away on Nov. 18, 2002. Born in Cleveland, Ohio on June 3, 1916, he moved to Arizona 22 years ago from Fort Collins, CO. He was a Staff Sergeant in the Army during World War II. He was a window glazier and retired in 1978. He was a member of Retreads M.C. (Motorcycle Club) and of Recycles M.C. (Motorcycle Club). He was also an avid horseman and animal lover. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor; daughters, Connie Carlstrom of Walden, CO; Sallie Bacher of Phoenix, AZ; son, Cliff of Glendale, AZ; grandchildren, Michele Bates, Dean Carlstrom, Clint Carlstrom, Miki Freauff, and Stephanie Bacher. Graveside Service will be held on Fri., Nov. 22, 2002, at National Memorial Cemetery, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd., Phoenix, AZ. Contributions may be made to the Arizona Humane Society, 9226 N. 13th Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85021. Arrangements by Messinger Indian School Mortuary. Published in the Arizona Republic on 11/20/2002.
