AMES, Ellen E. (Non)

Ellen E. "Non" Ames, 97, of Mesa, AZ passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2002. Ellen was a resident for over 13 years of The Orchard Apts. Two brothers and a sister preceded her in death; Harold, Bernard, and Larena. Her beloved husband, Ted with whom she shared 74 years, also preceded her in death. Ellen and her husband came to the Valley in 1959. She was born August 18, 1905 in Lynch, Nebraska. Oh, how she loved to tell family, friends, and anybody else she met, her life story, which always included that she had been married for 74 years, and had her original teeth. Her memory of these shared stories is a gift left behind to her family. Ellen is survived by her sister June Gibbs of Mesa and many nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and nephews whom she so dearly loved. Her family and friends will truly miss her. Ellen loved celebrations and life's blessings. Her life will be celebrated in a memorial service on Saturday, November 23, 2002, at Melcher Mission Chapel, 6625 E. Main, Mesa.
