ZIMMERMAN, Marian

The Arizona Republic 3/14/2010 Zimmerman, Marian Ella, 85, of Phoenix, AZ passed away on 3/9/2010. Marian was born in Oklahoma on 9/10/1924. After high school, she went to a business college and later met her husband, Don. They married on 4/26/46, moved to Phoenix in 1950 and raised three children. Marian would say that her greatest accomplishment was being a devoted wife and mother. Being a grandmother was a joy to her. She retired from the Glendale Union High School District after 20 years of service. Mom will be missed, but she will live on in our hearts forever. Marian is survived by her children, Connie (Dan) Eggleston, Gary (Sharon) Zimmerman, Jim (Cheryl) Zimmerman; her grandchildren, Tara Zimmerman, Janell (Chad) Kennedy, Aaron Lambert, Chris (Michelle) Zimmerman, Anna Lambert; her great grandsons, Tatum Zimmerman and Ashton Kennedy; a brother, Jack (Claudine) Alt, and nieces & nephews. Visitation is on Sunday, 3/14/10, from 12-3:00 pm at Best Funeral Home, 9380 W. Peoria Ave, Peoria, AZ. Funeral memorial service is on Monday, 3/15/10, at 11:00 am at Palmcroft Baptist Church, 15825 N. 35th Ave, Phoenix, AZ. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Hospice of the Valley in memory of Marian Zimmerman.
