Eastern Arizona Courier, Safford, AZ Sunday, March 14, 2010 Bobby C. McSweeny Bobby C. McSweeny was born Sept. 17, 1939, in Prescott, Ark., to Thurman and Opal McSweeny. The family moved to Ajo in 1951. Bobby was a locomotive engineer for Phelps Dodge for more than 40 years. He was an active member of the Sunset Church of Christ in Morenci. He was an avid sports fan and after retirement enjoyed wood- working. Bobby was all about people and made friends with everyone he met. He entered heaven March 9, 2010, at the age of 70. Bobby is survived by his mother, Opal of Mesa; his loving wife of 49 years, Marla (Mabry) of York Valley; daughter, Johnna Howell of Tustin, Calif.; son, Chris (Murie) McSweeny of Centerton, Ark.; brother, Jerry (Jacque) McSweeny of Payson; and grandchildren, Shannon and Jeffery Howell and Abby McSweeny.
