LEE, Rema

Lee, Rema G. of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away February 23, 2010 at the age of 60. Rema was born in Phoenix, but grew up in southern California. A devoted wife & mother, she was married 35 years to Stacy M. Lee, with whom she had three children. The family made homes in Whittier, CA, Fergus Falls, MN, Black Canyon City, AZ, Park Rapids, MN, and finally settled in Glendale, AZ in 1986. Mrs. Lee was an Early Childhood Educator, for over 30 years, and "lived to teach". As a dedicated teacher, she will be fondly remembered by her students, parents & many co-workers from her years at Barnard Elementary (Underwood, MN), Canon Elemetary (Black Canyon City, AZ), Pine Point Elementary (Ponsford, MN), Laveen/Cash Elementary (Laveen, AZ), Sunnyslope (Phoenix, AZ) & finally Washington Elementary (Phoenix, AZ). Aside from her love of teaching, Rema loved to listen to great music and would sing along at the top of her lungs. When she got the chance, playing her guitar, painting, visiting museums, traveling and enjoying her family and friends (near & far) brought her joy. Rema was also a member of Community of Grace Church & a Laveen Lion. She was preceded in death by her parents Randall & Earline Dick in 1990, husband Stacy (Mike) Lee in 2003 and son Jason E. Lee in 2005. She is survived by: daughter Erin (John) Gerek of Westernville, NY, daughter Rachel Lee of Peoria, AZ, 5 grandchildren (Brenden, Sharadan, Hayden, Spencer & Addison) all of the Phoenix, AZ, area, her brother Jack (Trista) Holmberg of Fredericksburg, VA, daughter-in-law Carla Sodergren of Phoenix, AZ, mother-in-law Esther Lee & brother-in-law Gary (Tracey) Lee, both of Fergus Falls, MN, sister-in-law Linda (Robert) Sterling of Pinetop, AZ, nieces Tari, Stacy, Joni, Carole & Paris, nephews Jack Jr., David & Alexander, as well as numerous cousins. A celebration of life is planned for March 27, 2010, 1 PM at the Community Church of Joy, 21000 North 75th Avenue Glendale, AZ. 85308. Private interment to follow.
