KELLY, Patricia Ann

(Maiden Name: Bergman)

The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Saturday, March 13, 2010 Patricia Ann Kelly (Bergman) was born on July 28, 1943, in Saint Louis, Mo. As the daughter of an Air Force lieutenant colonel, much of her adolescence was spent traveling. After her younger brother Steven was born, the family settled in Hedrick, Iowa. In 1956, they relocated to Phoenix, Ariz., where she attended Central High School, Phoenix College and NAU. After earning her degree in education, Pat began shaping young minds. She spent over 30 years teaching special education and kindergarten, earning a Teacher of the Year award and Ambassador of Excellence honors. She traveled the country sharing her enthusiasm for teaching. After retirement, she and Howard, her husband of 43 years, moved to a house with a view in Prescott Valley, Ariz. There she made many wonderful friends, and began exploring a variety of craft-related hobbies. Pat loved to read mysteries, cook delicious meals, participate in Bible study, inspire people to give of themselves through organ donation, and spend time with her family. Pat cherished every moment she spent with her children Donovan and Kim and their families, especially her grandchildren Benjamin, Ashley and Logan. Another great joy for Pat was the time she and Howard spent RVing. She had a deep appreciation for nature and the beauty of God's country. She truly enjoyed the journey.
