Newhouse "Doc" and "Pago" Our dear father, husband and friend died peacefully on March 8, 2010, at the Rose Lane Adult Care Center in Prescott. Earl was born on July 22, 1913, in Corsica, Pa., to Illilla and Barnett Newhouse. He was one of eight children. He lived in Akron, Ohio, and raised his family until 1947, when he moved to Phoenix, Ariz. In Phoenix, he worked for Phoenix Welding Supply for over 30 years. Earl and his family owned a family farm where they raised and boarded Arabian and Tennessee Walking horses. Being so creative and artistic was a natural for Doc. He has created many beautiful pieces of furniture, made exquisite leather pieces, created and designed Western jewelry, antiquing, handcrafted beautiful picture frames for his wife's artwork - Doc and Betsy were quite a team. After his retirement, Earl could be seen on the Prescott golf courses almost daily or tooling around in his golf cart. Earl had many close and dear friends through the years in Prescott and Prescott Valley. Earl is survived by his adoring wife Betsy of 40-plus years; daughters Martha and Suzanne; grandchildren Michael, Mark, David, Monique, John and Alex; and numerous great-grandchildren; nephew Clarence Newhouse of Akron, Ohio; and niece Pat Newhouse Bishop of Ocala, Fla. There will be no services as he requested. Cremation has already taken place. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity. Heritage Memory Mortuary in Prescott cared for the family.
