The Arizona Republic 3/16/2010 Knight, Lewis Clark Jr. long-time resident of Scottsdale, AZ died suddenly Sunday March 7, 2010 in Scottsdale. He was born on May 21, 1943 in Ithaca, NY to his loving parents, Lewis Clark Knight, Sr. and Marian Maddy Knight. After WII, his family moved back to their home in Great Bend, KS. and in 1956 moved to Phoenix, AZ residing in the Arcadia area. He attended Judson School and Arcadia High School in Scottsdale. Before retiring he worked at Piccadilly Restaurant, Smitty's Grocery, Albertsons, and Sprouts. He derived pleasure in biking, watching the Phoenix Suns and Cardinals games on TV and teaching his cockatiel Sunny to talk. Lewis looked forward to family gatherings, and enjoyed calling his sisters in Green Bay and Oceanside. In 2007 he moved to a caring home at Villa Ocotillo Assisted Living Community of Scottsdale. After his bike was stolen he loved riding his "new" bike, given to him by the youth group at First Baptist Church of Scottsdale. He enjoyed dining at Red Lobster and Olive Garden, going to "his" Chase bank, socializing and meeting new people. He was thankful for the support of his sisters, his nephews Mathias, Patrick and Sean and his niece Alexa who assisted him during this past year especially in enrolling him in the Granite Reef Senior Center computer classes, giving him much pleasure. He was always a gentleman, very polite and kind and will be missed. Since his move to Arizona, Lewis attended Shepherd of the Hills Congregational Church, Baptist Church of the Valley on Shea Blvd. and found a home at the First Baptist Church of Scottsdale where he took pleasure in his many friendships, singing in the choir and helping others. He loved his family and his God. He is now in a place where all are equal.
