DEMASTERS, Jesse


The Daily Miner, 3/9/2010 Jesse L. DeMasters of Kingman died peacefully at home on Friday, March 5, 2010. Known as "Turtle" to the Powderhorn Clan of Muzzle Loaders of Arizona and "Grumpy" to his grandchildren, Jesse was well-liked by all who knew him. Jesse loved going to black powder rendezvous with his buddy, Roy, and some of his favorite memories were of whitewater rafting with his grandkids and other family members. Jesse also enjoyed being a member of the Seven Mile Gun Club. Jesse is preceded in death by his parents, Dorance and Beatrice DeMasters; his brother, Bill DeMasters; and his granddaughter, Melissa DeMasters. He leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Kathleen DeMasters; his sons, Daniel of Kingman and David of Prescott; and daughter, Zella (Todd) Vandervort of Eagan, Minn. He also leaves behind his sisters, Zella Cook of Roseville, Calif., and Verna Runolfson of Kelowna, British Columbia. Jesse has nine grandchildren and many nieces and nephews who will grieve his loss. Jesse did not want a funeral or memorial. In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to New Hope Hospice, 3650 S.
