Ethel Lewis Blattman, 84, died peacefully Jan. 18, 2004 in West Jordan, Utah, at the home of her daughter Judy, with her family at her bedside.
Ethel was born Aug. 20, 1919 in Taylor, to James Lewis and Lillis Irene Gardner. She married W.S. (Bill) Blattman Dec. 14, 1940 in Holbrook, later solemnized in the Oakland, California temple.
She is survived by and will be greatly missed by her six children, Gail (Ed) Argust of Taylor, Edie (Larry) Powell of American Fork, Utah, Judy (Leonard) Ju of West Jordan, Utah, Jim (Nancy) Blattman of Winnemucca, Nevada, Lee Ann Sullivan of Reno, Nevada, and Kathy Blattman of South Jordan, Utah; along with 22 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Irene (Byron) Lewis.
Preceded in death are her husband Bill; grandson Ben Ju; great-granddaughter Tacey Argust; and two brothers, Chet and Ermon.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many callings. Her love for her Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ sustained her throughout her life. She loved her family and wanted nothing more than to be with them. She was the sweetest, most caring, generous and gentle spirit, an Elect Lady.
Some of the families fondest memories are of watching her make candy (especially her taffy and fudge). She made and gave away beautiful crocheted tablecloths and quilts over the years.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 31 at the Love Lake Ward Chapel in Taylor.
Owens Mortuary of Snowflake is handling the arrangements.
