The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 01/30/2004 Billy Lloyd Owens Billy Owens, 75, died Jan. 25, 2004 in Show Low. He married Naoma Kelley June 1, 1948, and moved to Overgaard in 1950. Billy worked in logging until he retired in 1978. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Billy also was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will always be remembered as "Bill Owens, Professional Turkey Hunter. Billy is survived by his wife, Naoma of Overgaard; one daughter, Sharon Williams of Overgaard; four sons, Billy Owens, Jr. of Heber, Roger Owens of Heber, Kenneth Owens of New Hampshire, and Paul Owens of Phoenix; 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Donny Owens of Oklahoma, and Gene Owens of California; four sisters, Patsy Maxwell of Oregon, Linda McAdoo, and Doris Tamplan both of Oklahoma, and Betty Tanner of Mesa. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Summer and great-grandson Dusty. Funeral services were held Thursday, Jan. 29 at The Baptist Church in Overgaard. Interment was in the Heber Cemetery. Owens Mortuary of Show Low handled the arrangements.
