Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, AZ Wednesday, March 17, 2010 Michael Floyd Parsons, 59, formerly of Flagstaff, died Sunday, March 14, 2010, in Prescott, with friends and family at his side. Mr. Parsons was born Aug. 9, 1950, in Taft, Calif., to Carol Parsons and William Heinz. He was an avid hunter and world-class fly fisherman spending many days and nights fishing Lee's Ferry. He attended Alhambra High School and Phoenix College, served his country in the U.S. Army and worked as a certified golf course mechanic for many years. He lived life to the fullest and will be remembered for his sense of humor and genuine honest character. Mr. Parsons is survived by son Andrew Parsons of Phoenix; life companion Nora Askew; sons Matthew and Richard Simon of Prescott; sister Sharon Ulbrich of Indiana; and stepfather Jerry Meek of Bakersfield, Calif. He was preceded in death by his mother and his grandparents. A memorial service will be May 1 at Lee's Ferry. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Prescott Veterans Administration or Yavapai Regional Medical Center Intensive Care Unit in Prescott. Hampton Funeral Home in Prescott is handling arrangements.
