James D. "Jim" Roth, age 65, owner of Roth & Associates, died on Thursday, February 4th, 2010 with his family at his side. Jim fought a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born April 23, 1944, in Denver Colorado and at the age of 2, moved with his parents, the late Nancy Shipper & Ed Roth to Phoenix, AZ. Jim attended Washington High School & Phoenix College.
He served in the National Guard as a Supply Sergeant E3 during the Viet Nam War. On January 24, 1971 he married Yvonne Hammett, a native of Phoenix. After years in the construction side of the building industry, Jim started his own sales rep firm, Roth & Associates in 1980.
Over the next 29 years, Jim represented over 60 manufacturers from all over the world in the door and hardware industry. He enjoyed golfing, was a big fan of the Arizona Diamondbacks and loved traveling the world with his "bride".
He published a book, "Pocket Success" which was a best seller in the eyes of his family. Jim gave to many charitable organizations such as, Goodwill Industries, Florence Crittenton Agency & Auxiliary, Saint Mary's Food Bank, and ASPCA over the years. He had a great sense of humor and was a great host to many social gatherings.
Jim is survived by his wife, Yvonne; his son, J.J. Roth and his fiancée, Angela Alexander; his son, Richard Eyrich and his wife, Lori; two grandchildren, Jessica and Christopher; his sister, Sandy and her husband George Hensley; and "the girls" Coco and Coquette, his precious poodles. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends.
Funeral services for James D. Roth will be held at the Serenity Chapel in Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery at 719 N. 27th Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85009. The viewing will be at 1:00 p.m. with a service to follow at 2:00 p.m.
