KETRING - CLARIDGE, Nellie


The Arizona Republic 3/17/2010 Claridge, Nellie Ketring, 98 of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away on March 12, 2010. Family and myriad friends mourn the passing of this wonderful lady, who gave her love selflessly and unconditionally for nearly 99 years. She was born in Bergman, Arkansas, April 19, 1911, to George and Rosie Cantrell and passed from this life on March 12, 2010. She was predeceased by her first husband Walter R. Ketring, her elder son Walter (Rusty) Ketring, Jr., her second husband Dell Claridge, and one grandchild, Karen Ketring. When she was nine, Nellie moved with her family to Oklahoma where she lived until moving to Arizona in 1971. She was active at the Westown Baptist Church and the Busy Bees Quilting group until well into her nineties. She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie McAnerny Smith (Tom), son George Ketring and five grandchildren: D. Mike McAnerny (Ann), Jeri McAnerny (Mike Thomas) Lisa Hullinger, Bonnie Ketring and Karla Papaco (Rudy), as well as ten great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., Thursday, March 18th at Shadow Mountain Mortuary, 2350 E. Greenway Rd. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 A.M at Shadow Mountain. A private interment will take place later at Resthaven Park Cemetery.
