CHAMBERLAND, Bertrand L. (Bert)

The Arizona Republic 3/17/2010 Chamberland, Bertrand L. (Bert)passed away on March 10, 2010. Bert was born in Manchester NH on St. Patrick's Day, March 17, 1934. He received degrees from St. Anselm's College, College of the Holy Cross, and the University of Pennsylvania. Bert was employed by the DuPont Company in Wilmington DE for 9 years and later by the University of Connecticut where he taught chemistry for 25 years. Bert was a 54 year member of the American Chemical Society. During the last 15 years of his life, he devoted much of his time in helping fellow prostate cancer survivors. He was past facilitator of the Tempe St. Luke's Hospital prostate cancer support group, Us TOO, an organization near and dear to his heart. He is survived by his wife, Ellie and their three children, Michelle (John) Pantleo, Laura (Daniel) Glezer, and Michael, five grandchildren, three sisters and one brother. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Tues., April 20 at 10 AM at St. Steven's Church, 24827 S. Dobson Rd., Sun Lakes AZ 85248. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bert Chamberland may be made to Us Too International, Inc., 5003 Fairview Ave., Downer's Grove, IL 60515.
