HIGHBAUGH, Michael Kenneth


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 02/06/2004 Michael Kenneth Highbaugh, 24, died Jan. 30, 2004. He was born Nov. 16, 1979 in Show Low to Whitt and Evelyn Highbaugh, the second born of three. Michael attended schools in Blue Ridge, St. Johns, Tennessee, Snowflake, and graduated from Miami High School in 1998. He was co-captain of the Varsity football team and was awarded MVP three times, along with player of the year, and defensive back of the year two times, along with numerous other awards. The things Michael loved most in life were his family, friends, and playing football, fishing and going on road trips. Michael touched the lives of all those he knew. He will be missed by many. Michael is survived by his father, Whitt B. Highbaugh of Lakeside; mother and step-father, Evelyn and Craig Hall of Taylor; grandmother, Dorothy Highbaugh of Lakeside; grandpa, Harley Hobart; brothers, Jeremy Highbaugh of Globe, Kaylon Hall of Taylor and Dennis Mason of Show Low, sister, Lorraine Michelle Highbaugh of Show Low; one niece Justyne Nicole Mason of Show Low. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Whitt B. Highbaugh, Sr., and grandmother, Zelda Torrey. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 7 at 11 a.m. at the Pinetop Baptist Church, with a viewing one-hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Lakeside Cemetery. A benefit account has been set up in Michael Highbaugh's name (account no. 0633003287) at National Bank of Arizona. Owens Mortuary of Show Low handled the arrangements.
