GALAS, Lucy Reyes

The Arizona Republic 3/18/2010 Galas, Lucy Reyes (Maria de la Luz Porchas) Lucy was born September 6, 1919 and passed away on February 28, 2010. She was born in Agua Prieta, Sonora, Mexico to Jesus and Guadalupe Enriquez Porchas. She was brought to Arizona when she was eight months old and given the name Lucy Reyes. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Frank B. Galas, five brothers, two sisters, sons Rudy, Ralph, Luis, David, one grandson and three great-grandsons. Survivors are daughters Martha (Errol) Sisson and Suzanne (Carlos) Corrales and sons Ernest Galas and Frank (Connie) Galas, twenty-five grandchildren, forty-six great-grandchildren, fifteen great-great grandchildren, her godchildren and a very large extended family. She was known by friends in the neighborhood as Nana Lucy. She will be missed by many. Visitation will be at 9:00am with Mass at 10:00am on Saturday, March 20th at St. Agnes Church, 1954 N. 24th St. She will be laid to rest with her husband at St. Francis Cemetery, 48th St. & Oak. Services are being handled by Advantage Colonial Chapel.
