Gillespie Childs, Sr., 69, died Feb. 6, 2004 in Phoenix. 

Gillespie was born March 23, 1934 and lived in Carrizo. He served as a marine in the Korean War.
 
He is survived by his wife, Carmelita Childs; daughter, Gina Childs; sons, Christopher Childs, Sr., Gillespie Childs, Jr. and Giles Child; daughters-in-law, Laynette, Regina and Victoria Sue; brother, William Childs; 15 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; one nephew; and four nieces.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 14 at the Assembly of God Church in Carrizo with Brother Frawley officiating.
      
Silver Creek Chapel Mortuary of Whiteriver handled arrangements.
