William Henry Monroe, 68, died Feb. 17, 2004 at Navapache Regional Medical Center in Show Low. 

William was born in Ipswich, Maine and raised in California where he enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country during the Korean War. He went on to attain his Master's Degree in law from LaSalle University and practiced corporate law until he found his calling teaching wilderness survival which he loved for 25 plus years.
  
He is survived by his four sons, Theodore, Alex, Robert and William; two daughters, Elizabeth, Samantha; nine grandchildren; brother, Arthur Scheiwkart Monroe; and family; also a host of loving friends.

A full Veteran's service and family, friend memorial is being planned.
