LOTT, George William, Jr.


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 02/27/2004 George William Lott, Jr. longtime Fallon resident died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2004 in Show Low. George was born Aug. 29, 1920 in Seattle, Washington to George and Lillian Lott. George served in World War II in Germany, as Master Sergeant serving behind General Patton in his armored division, he was given honors for being an excellent marksman and various other medals. He has lived in Lakeside with his companion Doris Morin for the last 10 years. George moved to Fallon in 1951 from Sparks, Nevada and owned and operated his own gas station, he went to work for Jim Allison selling Pontiacs and Buicks, in 1960, he went to work for Anderson Ford which was on Center Street in those days. George was married to Lola Jensen at that time and they had one daughter. He later married Pat Foster, she had two daughters and together they had two daughters and a son who died at birth. George was very civic minded, he was very active in the 20-30 club and later the Lion's Club. He was part of the Punt Pass and Kick-he was a league bowler, and was on the Fish and Game Commission. He was a dedicated volunteer fireman and at that time he was part of the volunteer ambulance crew. George lived just a couple of blocks from the fire department and he always prided himself for getting there first. He delivered a few babies and some were even named after him. He was an avid fisherman and president of the Greenhead Club. George was a great cook and he was well known for his excellent recipe for ducks, he had an annual duck feed for all the fire department volunteers. Preceded in death by his parents, his infant son, Timmy; his wife Patricia Lott in 1980 and his sister Bernice. He is survived by his daughters and son-in-laws Karen and Vari Agee of Elko, Debbie and Dave Torell of Lolo, Montana, Becky and Robert Stanard of Fallon, Nataya (Nikki) and Bill of Winnett, Montana, and Lesa Lott of Fallon; grandchildren, Tracy, Shane, Danelle, Daylene, DeEtte, Dusti, Dallin, Alicia, Lily; great-grandchildren, Roeper, Erica, Sarah, Beth, Emily, Kalin, and Karen. Services will be held Friday, Feb. 27 at The Gardens Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Burial with full military honors to follow at Churchill County Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made to Fallon Volunteer Fire Department 20 North Carson Street in Fallon, Nevada. Arrangements are under The Gardens Funeral Home and Owens Mortuary of Show Low.
