Karen Bernice Bowers Madrid, 61, died June 11, 2005 after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Karen was born Oct. 4, 1943 in Provo, Utah. She was retired as a transportation secretary for Round Valley Unified School District.
Her survivors include her daughters Angela Marie Madrid, Gilbert; Leisel K Baker, Mesa; Marnie Jo Goulding, Sierra Vista; Alisha Lynn "Skeezie"; and son Gary Scott Madrid, Eagar. Also brothers David Junius Bowers, West Valley, Utah; Robert Lee Bowers, Clay Springs; Kenneth Alan Bowers, Salt Lake City, Utah; John Steven Bowers, West Valley, Utah; and sister Kathryn Sue Chapman, Ashburn, Virg.; and 11 grandchildren.
Her husband Gary Joe Madrid, preceded her in death.
Karen will be remembered most for her smile and joyful laughter and her selfless service to others.
Services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Eagar Stake Center at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 18. Visitation and viewing will be at the Burnham-Jewkes Mortuary Chapel Friday, June 17 from 7-9 p.m. and again from 9-10:45 a.m. just before services Saturday. Interment at Eagar Cemetery.
