David Duncan Baxter, age 82, died March 17, 2010, at the VA Hospice Unit of Prescott.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Susan (Lawrence); his daughter, Linda Ryan (Joseph); and grandchildren, Kyle and D.J. Ryan.
David was born March 23, 1927, in Kilsyth, Scotland. He came to the United States at the age of 22 after completing his apprenticeship in carpentry.
He served this country in the Korean War and became a citizen upon his return. He was a Mason and the commander of the Needham, Mass., V.F.W.
Upon his retirement from Polaroid, he settled in Prescott and became active in volunteer work with the VA Medical Center, the Sheriff's Department and Citizens on Patrol.
There will be a celebration of David's life at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 25, 2010, at Unity Church of Prescott. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Northern Arizona Region (928) 771-9257 or the VA Hospice Unit (928) 776-6013.
