PAISLEY, Shirley Falbo

(Maiden Name: Helton)

The Arizona Republic 3/23/2010 Shirley Falbo Paisley passed away on March, 19, 2010 after several months of bravely facing pancreatic cancer. Shirley was born on July 25, 1945 in Columbia, S.C. to William and Doris Helton, who have both preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband Gary Paisley, adult children Cathy Falbo (Steve Youngbloom) and Brian Falbo (Jen Falbo), three grandchildren Brittni, Skyler and Wesley, great granddaughter Elizabeth, sister Theresa Helton and many nieces, nephews and in-laws that loved her greatly. Her sister Judy Helton preceded her in death. She was raised in Nashville, TN, moving to Phoenix in 1960 after the death of her father. She graduated from West High School, Phoenix College and Arizona State University. She was a dedicated teacher, teaching Sixth Grade in the Deer Valley USD for nearly 30 years, retiring in 2006. Teaching was her true calling; preparing students for middle school and reaching out to those that needed more assistance or care. She loved God and her church, serving at First United Methodist Church of Phoenix for more than 30 years. She loved her last position of hand writing notes to those requesting and receiving prayers. She was able to love others because she knew that God had first loved her. Her family was the love of her life and she will be greatly missed. Services will be held Wednesday, March 24 at 6:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Phoenix with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to First United Methodist Church, Shirley Paisley Memorial at 5510 N. Central Ave., Phoenix 85012 or United Methodist Outreach Ministries, 3333 E. Van Buren, Phoenix, AZ 85008. Thank you to the staff at Hospice of the Valley's Coronado House who lovingly cared for Shirley.
