Rosemary Farmer, 84, of Scottsdale, AZ, passed away peacefully with family around her on March 14, 2010. She was born October 10, 1925 to Dr. W.V. Ammons and Evelyn A. Ammons of Yuma, AZ. As a young child the family moved to Phoenix where Rosemary attended Kenilworth Elementary School and North High School (class of '43). She was a wife and mother providing many happy memories as her family grew up in Scottsdale.
Rosemary was a member of the PDA Tennis Association in which she participated in developing and expanding Junior Tennis programs/tournaments. She was also active in the community as a member of the Junior League of Phoenix. Rosemary was an avid tennis player and golfer as a member of Arizona Country Club and White Mountain Country Club. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 yrs. , Francis William Farmer in 1994.
Rosemary is survived by her four children: sons Bill Farmer (Suzanne), Dan Farmer, Jim Farmer (Judy), and daughter Linda Bones; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and her sister Ann Pierson. A
Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 3rd at The Ascension Lutheran Church, 7100 N. Mockingbird Lane, Paradise Valley, AZ 85253 with a reception to follow at the home of Jim and Judy Farmer. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the Hospice of the Valley and are requesting that in lieu of flowers that memorial donations be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ, 85014.
