The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 03/12/2004 Allen L. Law, 78, died suddenly but peacefully in his home in Snowflake Sunday, March 7, 2004. He was born Aug. 22, 1925 in Dallas, Texas to Dollie Ann Drake and Isaac Newton Law. He and his brother, Virgil, were raised in Oklahoma City. He worked in a war factory when he was 16, joined the U.S. Marine Corps when he was 18 and was sent to China. When the war ended, he obtained his GED, and attended Bob Jones University where he obtained a degree in Theology and Education, and later his Masters Degree from NAU in Flagstaff. He moved to Arizona in 1972 where he met and married Mary A. Morris of Joseph City. He taught school at Hulet Elementary School in Holbrook from 1973 until 1991when he retired, and moved to Snowflake. He served numerous positions in the LDS Church, delivered meals for "Meals on Wheels" for 12 years, he was an avid genealogist and loved farming and gardening. Some of his fondest moments were time spent with his family and friends. He was a devoted husband, father and friend and will be missed by all. He is survived by his wife, Mary; sons, Allen (Amy Llewellyn) Law, Jr. of Falls Church, Virginia, William Morris of Mesa, Dean (Dennise McCray) Morris of Springerville; daughters, Deanne (Thomas) Romo of Holbrook and Heather (Michael) Record of Ahwatukee; and 14 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons Jonathon Law and Ronald Morris; brother, Virgil Law; sister, Mildred McLester. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 13 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Snowflake Temple View Chapel with a visitation one hour prior to services at the church and Friday, March 12 from 6-8 p.m. at Owens Mortuary in Snowflake. Owens Mortuary of Snowflake is handling arrangements.
