The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 03/19/2004 John Joseph Sotak, 78, died March 13, 2004 in Show Low. He was born in Chicago, Illinois. John served as a firefighter for 28 years in Chicago, moving to Arizona in 1980 and made his home in Show Low. He was an avid fisherman enjoying both cat and trout fishing. He was also a huge Cubs fan. John is survived by his wife Jo Ann Sotak of Show Low; children Father Jon Sotak of Tulsa, Oklahoma, William (Sue) Sotak of Chicago, Illinois, Robert (Kathy) Sotak of New Lennox, Illinois, Mary (Kenneth) Aquina of Dyer, Indiana, Deborah Moore of Reno, Nevada, Cynthia Cole of Show Low, and Patricia Neal of Lakeside; one sister Elizabeth Sotak of Dyer, Indiana; 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Elizabeth Sotak, and one great-grandchild Dallas Somnis. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 20 at Owens Mortuary Chapel in Show Low.
