Bernardo is survived by his companion, Charlotte Suttle Vizcarra; step-daughter, Charlena Hawkins; mother, Helena Bonito; step-father, Sanford Bonito; sisters, Barbara N. Walker, Regina Johnson, Samantha Nelson; brother, Fred D. Nelson Jr.; step-sister, Dolita Bourke; aunt, Joanna Nashio; uncles, Hubert Goclanney, Phillip Goclanney, Paul Goclanney, Leto Goclanney, Elmer Rolland; seven grandchildren, numerous relatives and friends. A wake was held Thursday, March 1, at Charlotte Suttle Vizcarra's residence in Turkey Creek. A second night awake will start at 10 a.m. Friday, March 2, at Helena Bonito's residence in East Fork. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 3, at Fire on the Mountain Church with Pastor Edmund Cosay officiating. Interment will be at the Mission View Cemetery in East Fork. Silver Creek Chapel Mortuary of Whiteriver handled arrangements.
