Gary was taken too soon by the Lord March 13, 2010. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. Gary met and married his soul mate, Bonnie, almost 44 years ago.
He was always hard working and constantly used his creativity to make improvements. He was always able to build a strong foundation to support his life. After joining the Job Corp and McKay Nursery, Gary was taught his trade and love of the outdoors and landscaping. He worked for many years for the City of Lake Mills, Wis.
After relocating his family to Tucson, he was able to travel the country for personal enjoyment and financial security where he was a truck driver for 14 years. He was able to go back to what he loved most, working outdoors. He worked for AAA Landscape for over 10 years.
Gary and Bonnie moved to the White Mountains where he worked for Pinetop-Lakeside Parks Department and was finally able to retire. He enjoyed retirement life with Bonnie in the fresh mountain air. He was able to enjoy his other passions including travel, drawing, remodeling, nature, wildlife and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Gary will be sadly missed by his family: wife Bonnie, children Sandra, Brenda (Dennis), Shawn (Valerie) and grandchildren Heather, Breeana, Adam and his many close friends. He was a proud but private man who always had a smile on his face. We are left with priceless memories that will last a lifetime.
Gary's Wish: Do not stand at my grave and weep. I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush, I am the swift, uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry. I am not there. I did not die.
The family will be holding a private memorial at a later date.
