GONZALES, Pete E.

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 03/26/2010 Pete E. Gonzales, 69, died March 21, 2010, at his home in Springerville. He was born in Holbrook July 13, 1940, the son of Tony and Sarah Martinez Gonzales. Pete served his country in the U.S. Army from 1957-1960. He was a construction worker and a member of the Asbestos Union Local #73. He worked on many power plants in the area and retired in 1996. He enjoyed and played music and football and loved to be outdoors. Most of all he enjoyed being with his family. He is survived by his wife Diane Gonzales and daughters Kim Hoffman both of Springerville and Monica (James) Dickey of Phoenix; brother Ray Gonzales of Greer; sisters Jane Valdivia of California; Nel Hemstreet of Eagar; Lucy Carrillo of Springerville; Mary Wildman of Eagar; and three granddaughters, Sean, Rachael and Chelsea. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 27, at the American Legion Building in Springerville. Burnham Mortuary of Eagar handled arrangements.
