ADAY, Rex Allen


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 03/26/2010 Rex Allen Aday, 53, of Fort Apache died Sunday, March 21, 2010, at the Whiteriver Indian Health Service Hospital. He was born April 7, 1956, at Seven Mile, the son of Allen and Betty (Moody) Aday. He was raised and attended school at Seven Mile. He worked in the logging industry for several years and later was a bus driver for Hon-Dah, Sunrise and the Forest Service and then did some construction work. He married Carlene Cruz on Dec. 12, 1985, at East Fork Lutheran Church. He was a member of Seven Mile Miracle and had a very strong faith. He enjoyed riding horses and helping cowboys. He was proud of his children and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife Carlene; parents Allen and Betty Aday; four daughters Marita, Shelly, Rex Anna and Karena Aday; two sons Andrew and Armondo Aday; two foster sons Shondee and Tyron Burnette; grandchildren Jayceon Cruz and Dylan Burnette; goddaughter Malinda Cruz; four sisters Berlinda Edwards, Marina Aday, Mary Lou Quesada and Melita Burnette and brother Dion Burnette. He was preceded in death by granddaughter Jalyn Cassidy Burnette. A two day wake will begin at 10 a.m. Friday, March 26, at the family residence, 2709 Lonesome Dove at Fort Apache. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 28, at the Seven Mile Miracle Church. Burial will follow at the Seven Mile Cemetery.
