Larna Lund Eagar, 90, died March 20, 2010, in Eagar. She was born July 25, 1919, in Eagar to Ellis W. Lund and Elnora Myrl Haws Lund.
Larna married Lynn Buell Eagar in her parents' home Nov. 27, 1937, and they were later sealed (March 26, 1959) for time and eternity in the Mesa Arizona Temple. They were the parents of eight children: five boys and three girls. Six years after Lynn's death, Larna married his older brother, Oscar Walter "Curly" Eagar.
Larna was able to serve two service missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with her husband Lynn; first a building mission in Logan, Utah, and then as part of the Building Restoration in Nauvoo, Ill. The latter mission was cut short by Lynn's sudden death. Larna then moved with her children back to Logan. She returned to Eagar in 1979 and remained here except for serving a 12-month Family History Mission in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Larna loved to sew and cook and was famous for her chocolate mayonnaise cake. She also had a dry sense of humor and enjoyed teasing and bantering with her family and friends. She served in many leadership and teaching positions in all organizations of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a strong testimony, especially on tithing and prayer. Larna was fun and spirited and always interested in the lives of her loved ones. She was deeply loved and appreciated and will be missed by all who knew her.
Larna is survived by sons Richard Buell (Ann) of Eagar, James Ellis (Debi) of Eagar, Timothy Bruce (Jodi) of Eagar; daughters Terri Janis (Kay) Moss and Etta Myrl (Shawn) Hamilton; step-daughters Patricia Alice Eagar and Lenora (Stan) Davis; special friend and sister-in-law Verna (Terry) Lund; son-in-law Joe Laney; 38 grandchildren (2 deceased), 81 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by first husband Lynn Buell Eagar and second husband Oscar Walter "Curly" Eagar, daughter Carol Lynne Laney, sons Jackson W. Eagar (Grayce, deceased), William David Eagar and daughter-in-law Abby Eagar.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 26, at the Eagar Stake Center, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow the service at Eagar Cemetery.
