McDougal's Caldwell Funeral Chapel Safford, Arizona September 16, 1938 - March 25, 2010 Arturo Holguin, 71, of Solomon, Entered into Rest on Thursday, March 25, 2010, after a four month struggle. He was born on September 16, 1938 in El Paso, TX. He married Jennie Rivera in August of 1970 in Safford, AZ. Arturo loved to work outdoors and worked many years for Trinity Landscaping as a Janitor, and many years as a laborer in construction. He loved his grandchildren and love to be with them. He loved to reminisce about the "Good Ole Days!" He is survived by his wife Jennie of Solomon; Son, Arturo (Margie) Holguin, Jr. of El Paso, TX; daughters, Rebecca Holguin of Solomon, and Amanda (Martin) McMillan of Safford; Sister, Marie Rea, of San Antonio, TX; Brother, Roberto Holguin of Michigan; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Maria. Rosary will be recited at 10 am on Wednesday, March 31, with Mass of a Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Solomon. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 30, at the Caldwell Funeral Chapel, 112 East Main Street, Safford. Arturo was born Sept. 16, 1938, in El Paso, Texas. He married Jennie Rivera in August of 1970 in Solomon. Arturo loved working in his yard and talking to everyone who would pass by; he enjoyed sharing stories about the “good ole days!” Arturo liked listening to music, singing and dancing. He also adored and spoiled all of his grandchildren. Before Arturo retired, he worked for many years at Cluff’s Janitorial as a janitor and was also a laborer in construction. Arturo was a hard worker, and people would always say, “Arturo will never give up!” He was loved by all and will never be forgotten. He is survived by his wife, Jennie of Solomon; son, Arturo (Margie) Holguin Jr. of El Paso; daughters Rebecca Holguin of Solomon and Amanda (Martin) McMillan of Safford; sister Maria Rea of San Antonio; brother Roberto Holguin of Michigan; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Maria.
