JAMES, Johnny


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 03/23/2004 Johnny James, 73, died March 13, 2004 in Whiteriver. Johnny was born Dec. 4, 1930 in Ft. Huachuca, and lived in Whiteriver. He served in from 1951-1953 in the US Marine Corps, Korean War and received a Purple Heart and Korean Service Medal. He is survived by his grandchildren, Billy Joel James, Wylene Kee and Vina Sue Burnette; nieces and nephews from his sister, Katherine James Hopkins, who preceded him in death. Clan relatives, Gussie Edwards, Anna Mae Muster, Elena Antonio, Lloyd Baha, Carla Baha-Alchesay, Dallas Baha, Arman Baha and Margaret Baha-Walker. Funeral services were held Saturday, March 20 in the Seven Mile Miracle Church in Seven Mile with full military honors including Marine Honor Guards and Honor Guards of the American Legion, Post No. 60, with Dr. Timothy Hinton officiating. Interment will be in the Tiapa Cemetery in Seven Mile. Silver Creek Chapel Mortuary of Whiteriver handled arrangements.
