Arizona Silver Belt, Globe, Arizona Thursday, Mar 25th, 2010 After a wonderful life, John Neary, a sixth generation native Arizonan, died peacefully on March 10, 2010, at the age of 92. Born in Globe, Ariz. to Tony and Belle Neary, John was educated in Globe elementary and high school, Staunton Military Academy in Virginia, and graduated from the University of Arizona. Funeral services will be held in Brophy Chapel (4701 N. Central Ave., Phoenix) on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at noon. A reception will follow. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Arizona Silver Belt, Globe, AZ Wednesday, Mar 31st, 2010 After a wonderful life, John Neary, a sixth generation native Arizonan, died peacefully on March 10, 2010, at the age of 92. Born in Globe, Ariz. to Tony and Belle Neary, John was educated in Globe elementary and high school, Staunton Military Academy in Virginia, and graduated from the University of Arizona. He completed his education with an advanced degree in Pharmacy from Idaho State University. He owned and operated a group of drug stores throughout Arizona. He worked for several local drug companies and ended his career with Good Samaritan Hospital Pharmacy. A war hero, John was particularly proud of his military service. He entered the military as a member of the U.S. Cavalry division and ended as Captain of the 91st Troop Carrier Squadron. Many fond memories resulted from his days as a glider pilot in World War II. John was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Murphy; and his daughter, Peggy. He is survived by five children; Toni Neary Harper, Kathleen Henze (Tom), Molly Neary (Kenneth Kanev), Michael (Jamie), and Barbi Neary. Also surviving are his 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. John had an incredible faith, a tremendous work ethic and unwavering love for family and friends. His positive attitude and sense of humor was an example to all. Life without him “hurts like the dickens.” Funeral services were held in Brophy Chapel (4701 N. Central Ave., Phoenix) on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at noon. A reception followed.
