DIGGS, Hiram D. (Master Sgt.)


Arizona Silver Belt, Globe, Arizona Wednesday, Mar 24th, 2010 Hiram D. Diggs, Master Sgt., U.S. Air Force, Retired, passed away at his home on March 9, 2010 at the age of 79. He was born in Flint, Mich. He was a 23-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force; his last duty was as Senior Instructor Ballistic Missile Analyst Technician with the Titan II missiles. He retired from the Air Force in 1971 and moved his family to Globe in 1972, where he was employed by the Globe Public Schools, Ranchers Bluebird Mine and the Highlander Laundromat. Master Sgt. Diggs is survived by his wife, Nancy; his previous wife, Lola Earle; five daughters, Barbara (Robert) Rosler, of Tucson, Rebecca (Alan) Cummings, of Tucson, Brenda (Gary) Smith, of Mesa, Patricia (John) Steidley, of Tempe, and Teresa (Todd) Harper, of Mesa; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 3 at Claypool Methodist Church.
