Joan L. Blauvelt of Scottsdale died at her home on Tuesday. She was 62.
Mrs. Blauvelt, who husband, Vincent, was an administrator for the Arizona National Guard in Kingman from 1954 to 1964, was born in Jersey City, N.J.
She moved to Arizona from Emerson N.J., 30 years ago. The Blauvelts moved to Scottsdale in 1964.
Mrs. Blauvelt was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Health Catholic Church in Scottsdale.
She is survived by two sons, Vincent John Blauvelt of Glendale and John William Blauvelt of Peoria; four daughters, Margaret Ann Farrar of Tucson, Alice Elizabeth Sims of Phoenix, Rosetta Blauvelt-Cutty of Tempe and Joan Mary Blauvelt of Phoenix; and seven grandchildren.
A service will be held at 11am Friday at Our Lady of Perpetual Helath, 3801 N. Miller Road in Scottsdale. Burial will follow at Scottsdale Cemetery, 23029 Cave Creek Road. Mrs. Blauvelt will be buried alongside her husband, who preceded her in death by two years.
A rosary service will be held at 7:30pm Thursday at the Messinger Mortuary Chapel, 7601 E Indian School Road in Scottsdale. Visitation will be from 6 to 9pm Thursday at the chapel. The family is asking that any memorial contributions be donated to the Hospice of the Valley, 214 E Willetta St., Phoenix.
