Alverta Smith passed away at her home in Scottsdale, Arizona, March 25, 2010. Alverta lived in the "Valley of the Sun" since 1976. She was born in Groesbeck, Texas, May 31, 1921, however, moved to California during World War II to work for Douglas Aircraft as one of the original "Rosie the Riveters". Survivors include her two daughters, Judy Smith from Borrego Springs, California, and Jeanie (Smith) Little from Scottsdale, AZ. She has seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Services will be held March 29, 2010 at Desert Hills Chapel, 6500 E. Bell Rd, Scottsdale at 11:30 AM.
