Ajo Coppers News, 9/14/2005 Rhoda Martha Grow Peters, 84, died Wednesday, September 7, 2005, in Casa Grande after a battle with cancer. She was born October 5, 1920, in Otter Tail County, Minnesota, the daughter of John & Edna Grow. She lived in Minnesota and Wisconsin until 1973 when she moved to Post Falls, Idaho. She moved to Ajo in 1994. Mrs. Peters worked as a nurse for nearly forty years, first as a nurse's aide and then as an LPN after obtaining her degree from North Idaho College in 1974. She retired from Kootenai -Medical Center in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, in 1985. She was preceded in death by her parents, her six brothers and three sisters. Also preceding her in death were her daughter Ruth, her husband Charles Peters, who died in 1974, and her companion Harry Gafwood, who died in 2005. She is survived by her daughter & son-in-law, Barbara & Kenny Moore of Winnemucca, Nevada; by her sons, John Hesson of Grantsburg, Wisconsin, and Arne Hesson of Hastings. Minnesota; and by many grandchildren and other family members. In lieu of flowers, her family asks that donations be made to hospice organizations. Private family services are being held in Post Falls, Idaho. Arrangements are being made by Douglass Funeral Home.
