Lyman L. Butch Moore, 64, died March 29, 2004 at his home in Linden.
Butch was born in Ajo, and was raised in Gila Bend, where he attended school. After graduation he went to work for the Arizona Highway Department. Later he moved to San Diego, and went to work for the California Highway Department.
Butch retired in October 1994, after 33 years of service with the title of Assistant Transportation Engineer. He then moved back to Arizona and lived in Payson until March of 1997 when he moved to Linden. Butch enjoyed country music and he loved to play the guitar. He enjoyed dancing and fishing, loved being with his family and his two dogs were always by his side. He fought a courageous battle with cancer.
Butch is survived by his wife, Susan Moore of Show Low; one son, Tracy Moore of El Cajon, California; three daughters, Shelly Wright of Alpine, California, Kelly Akk of Solana Beach, California, Denise Moore of Bremerton, Washington; three brothers, Charles R. Moore of Parks; Richard F. Moore of Dunlap, Tennessee, Gary F. Moore of Phoenix; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Memorial services were held Wednesday, March 31 at Owens Mortuary Chapel of Show Low.
