Marguerite Giacoma Marks, 99, died September 8, 2005.
She was born July 6, 1906, in Globe, Territory of Arizona, to Frances Ciona & Matteo Giacoma. She married Maurice Marks and they lived in Ajo before moving to Yuma, where they lived for many years. At the time
of her death, Mrs. Marks was making her home in Danville, California.
In Yuma, she was active in the Yuma Assistance League, the Garden Club, Elks Club, Yuma Country Club. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. "Marguerite lived a long and full life," said her family. "She was an inspiration to all of her nieces and nephews with her zest for live and her limitless energy. Marguerite's love of flowers was evident in her well-tended yard and the beautiful bouquets that graced her dinner table and those of her friends. An avid bridge
player, the many cups and sauces she won over the years now grace the homes of her family members."
Mrs. Marks was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Marks; by her stepson, John Marks; by her sister, Marie Cubitto; by her brothers, Frank Giacoma and Ernest Giacoma; and by her parents. A memorial service and interment will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Yuma at 11 a.m. on Saturday November 19. In lieu of flowers, the family
suggests donations be made to St. Paul's memorial fund.
