June Stalder, 80, passed away at her home in Safford on March 24, 2010, after battling with merkle cell cancer.
June was born in 1929 to Bonnie G. and Elmer D. Imel. June worked for the Department of Economic Security for many years and as a crossing guard for the grade schools.
She is survived by her loving sister, Joyce Hartung, who cared for June the last several months. Also surviving are three brothers, Dwight, Bill and Keith Imel.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Walker, and their son, David. Surviving are her eight sons and daughters: Bonnie and John Newman, Ada and Dick Carpenter, Ted W. and Giesla Stalder, Mary Joyce and Allen West, John E. and Tammi Stalder, Kyle and Bonnie Stalder, Fess Stalder and Michael Stalder. Part of June’s legacy are her 34 grandchildren and 60 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held at the Caldwell Funeral Chapel on Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to funeral services at the church. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, March 29, at 1 p.m. at the Solomon LDS Chapel. Concluding services will be in the Thatcher Cemetery.
