BENNETT, Eileen

The Arizona Republic 4/2/2010 Bennett, Eileen R. of Scottsdale, AZ died peacefully with her family at her side on March 29, 2010 at the age of 93. She was preceded in death by her husband Howard Bennett and son Bruce Bennett. She was born in Brookly, NY and retired to Arizona in 1979. Eileen is survived by her daughter Barbara Pope, daughter-in-law Patricia Bennett and grandchildren Christie Jones, Brian Bennett, and Kevin Bennett as well as other family members and hundreds of friends that meant the world to her. Eileen was the Treasurer of the Village of Babylon, Long Island, NY for 20-years. In her retirement in Arizona she volunteered for many organizations including the Fountain Hills Library and Scottsdale Shea Hospital for 12-years. She was also a member of the Lionesses. She was an avid golfer until age 86 and also sang in the Fountain Hill Choir for an number of years. Eileen was very strong, lived her life to the fullest, and enjoyed every moment. She was loved, an inspiration to all and will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held to celebrate her life on Sunday, April 11th at 2:00 pm at residence 6232 E. Kelton Ln., Scottsdale, AZ 85254. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made in honor of Eileen to Hospice of the Valley or the Arizona Humane Society.
