GREGG, JR., Wilton Mitchell


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 04/13/2004 Wilton Mitchell Gregg, Jr.,40, died in Whiteriver April 5, 2004. He was born in Whiteriver where he lived for most of his life. He has also lived for a time in Cibecue. Mitch attended school in Whiteriver and graduated from Alchesay High School in 1982. He worked as an Equipment Operator in the logging woods for contractors who worked for the Ft. Apache Timber Co. Mitch was a member of the White Mountain Apache Tribe. He enjoyed sports and especially loved baseball. Mitch had been a member of the Lutheran Church. Mitch is survived by his companion, Denise Clay of Whiteriver; parents, Wilkie and Sally Gregg of Whiteriver; one brother, Wilkie Gregg, Jr. of Whiteriver; two sisters, Cheryl Thompson and Sherilyn Gregg of Whiteriver; paternal grandmother, Marie Gregg of Cibecue; maternal grandmother, Edith G. Wood of Whiteriver. He was preceded in death by his sister, Sharon Gregg in 1965; paternal grandfather, George Gregg, Sr., and maternal grandfather, Arthur Wool. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 17 at the Cottonwood Gym in Cibecue. A two-day wake will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 15 at the home of Wilkie Gregg, Sr. in Whiteriver.
