Elizabeth (Betty) Alexander, retired legal secretary for Greyhound Corporation, died November 22, 2002 in Kindred Hospital, Houston, TX, of complications following surgery.
Elizabeth, born Betty Agnes Deford in Bay City, Michigan, traveled throughout the United States until her marriage to Joseph Gorman in Philadelphia, PA.
On his retirement from the Philadelphia Police Department they moved to Phoenix, AZ. Joseph died in 1981, and Elizabeth met and married Ben Alexander, a widower, in 1985. They became residents of Show Low, AZ in 1995, and enjoyed 15 happy years together before Ben's death in November 2000.
Elizabeth is mourned by her stepchildren Allen Alexander and Barbara Drakulich and their families, and her friends and neighbors in Phoenix and Show Low.
Friends of Elizabeth are invited to attend a memorial service for her Saturday, December 14, 2002, in the Serenity Chapel at the Greenwood Memorial Lawn Cemetery, 2300 W. Van Buren, Phoenix, Arizona. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Arizona Humane Society.
