WHEAT, Robert Henry


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 04/16/2004 Robert Henry Wheat, 88, died April 11, 2004 at the White Mountain Regional Medical Center in Springerville. Robert was a longtime home building contractor, responsible for nearly 1/5 construction of the in Grants, New Mexico in the 1970s. His skills was put to use early in his life when he served his country in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He built desks and office equipment in Hawaii. In his later years Robert moved back to Arizona but continued his passion for building right up until the time of his death. In his leisure time Robert was an avid fisherman all around the White Mountains and in central and northern New Mexico. Robert is survived by his wife, Mae; three daughters, Jesse, Merry and Sally; and two sons, Richard and David.
